=================================================================

Do you have a large living room, gallery, cinema, furniture showroom, or other space that can safely host 20-50 people? If so, we want to hear from you!

These shows only happen if fans can volunteer to host. To take the first step and get involved, please:

  • Read all about the hosting expectations outlined on this page.
  • Complete the intake form (at the bottom) to submit your space.
  • Sit tight! We’ll get back to you as soon as possible about dates and logistics.

Undertow keeps this simple for hosts. All you have to do is let us borrow your space (for approx. 3 hours) and check-in guests at the door.

In return, you’ll get to see an intimate screening of Programme 4 in your space, 5 free tickets for your friends, and our eternal gratitude.

REGIONS OF INTEREST: We are open to any and all submissions – even if you don’t live in a major metropolis. We will book more screenings with Rachel, so let us know where to go next!

We’d love to setup a screening at your place!

A few things to consider…

1. LOCATION
In the past we’ve booked all kinds of spaces. It can be residential, commercial, community, or any other indoor space where you can host a private gathering. Bonus points for being centrally located! Show us what you got!

There needs to be street parking, a parking garage, or public transportation nearby so guests can access your space easily. Before you offer to host a show, please check with your neighbors to confirm they’re ok with a bunch of extra people coming over. It would be a huge bummer if the gathering upset your neighbors and they called the cops.

2. SELLABLE CAPACITY
Be realistic. This is the number of tickets we put on sale. The ideal space would comfortably hold a minimum of 20 people. If you have questions about how to calculate your room’s capacity – please send us the approximate square footage of the show space. (Please keep in mind when determining your capacity, hosts get 5 comp tickets that aren’t factored into the sellable capacity.)

3. TICKET PRICE
Ticket price will be $40. Everyone must buy tickets in advance. No tickets will be sold at the door. All tickets sales are direct to fans from Undertow. There will be no reselling or third-party tickets sales.

Limit 4 tickets per order. These shows are limited capacity and we want everyone to have a fair opportunity to buy tickets.

4. GUEST LIST
On show day we provide the host with a list of everyone attending the show. We need hosts to check-in guests as they arrive and direct them where to sit. The host won’t have to exchange any money since tickets are bought in advance. We ask guests to arrive between 7pm-7:30pm to check-in for 8pm shows.

5. FREE TICKETS FOR HOSTS
The host is comped 5 free tickets to the screening in addition to anyone who lives in the home (if the show space is residential). If you have additional friends that exceed your 5 comps, they should be directed to buy admission online.

6. PROMOTING THE SHOW
Undertow Shows are promoted on Undertow and Programme 4 websites, social media, mailing lists, and by word-of-mouth. We rely on hosts to help us spread the word on a local level. Social media posts are more than sufficient.

Please don’t post your home address. The show address only goes to guests after they purchase tickets. In addition to respecting your privacy, we need to keep the show locations private so random folks don’t show up and party-crash.

7. SOUND SYSTEM & LIGHTING
It’d be great to connect the projector to a sound system. Barring that, options can be arranged in advance. Rachel is bringing most everything for the screening. She will need access to electrical outlets, a power strip, and an extension cord. Please have those items readily available for setup.

No special lighting needed. But it would be great if you had some kind of ambient lighting like a table lamp, string lights, or electric candles to help create a cozy mood. ABSOLUTELY NO lit candles or open flame during show hours. Rachel will be around to help give feedback and set the vibe.

8. SEATING
It’s ideal to have seating for everyone. If you have a bunch of chairs, bean bags, or floor poofs – great! But if you’re limited on seating, let us know and we’ll notify guests if they should bring something comfortable to sit on during the show.

9. COCKTAILS & HORS D’OEUVERS
Make the Scene is the perfect occasion to dust off the Galliano for a vintage cocktail, or put out the fondue pot. If you’re into it – we’d love to collaborate with you on a mid-century themed spread of food and beverages. We will follow-up with hosts on these specific points after the show is booked.

And if you’re ok with it, a majority of Undertow Shows are BYOB-friendly. Guests can bring something modest, like a bottle of wine, to enjoy during the show. Or perhaps a cheese plate for a 70s style potluck!

10. FRIENDLY PETS
We love dogs and cats, we really do! But an excitable pet running around during the show can be distracting for the guests and performers. If you have curious and friendly 4-legged family members, would you be ok with putting them in another part of the house or sending them to a friend’s house during the show?

If all that sounds ok,
PLEASE FILL IN ALL FIELDS BELOW

Address where the show will be hosted
Street addresss

The capacity you share will be the number of tickets we put on sale. Keep in mind when determining your capacity, your five friend comps aren't included in the ticketed capacity.
Your space does not have to be ADA accessible to host, however it is a major bonus. If your space isn't fully ADA accessible, please let us know about the entrance. Front door, back door, steps, handrails, etc..?
I understand hosting is a voluntary position and that I will not receive any financial compensation for hosting.
If you are renting your home or space, do you have permission from your landlord to host this show?
Do you have permission from everyone who lives in your home or works at the space to host this show
We are still advocating for strong COVID precautions at Undertow Shows. Would you prefer guests to wear masks during the performance?
I understand the screening is an immersive occasion where photography, filming, and live-streaming is PROHIBITED.
Happy Hour with themed hors d'oeuvers
Let us know if you can commit to prepping a few themed food and beverage items to share with guests before and during the show. Rachel and Undertow will provide direction, visuals, and (virtual) support throughout the process.
We realize that alcohol may not be ideal for your scenario, and that's totally fine. If you are OK with guests bringing beverages, this is what we tell them: "The host is allowing attendees to bring a few beers or a bottle of wine to enjoy during the show. Remember that this is a low-key intimate acoustic performance, not a party. Take all trash with you when you leave."
If you're confirmed as the host, can we tag you in our social media promotional posts for the tour?
If you're ok with us tagging you in social media posts, please supply your handles AND their corresponding platforms.
Let us know what sort of seating situation you have: chairs for everyone, a few chairs, couches, mostly floor seating, etc. If you have mostly floor seating - we need to collaborate with guests so they know to bring a floor poof or folding chair.
Let us know where guests should park (street parking, nearby lot or garage parking, public transit stops, etc)
Let us know where the performer should park (drive way, reserved space, street parking, etc)
